Mr. Afzal Delbar is the Managing Director of Silver Line Services Ltd (www.silverlineservices.com) which is an International Freight Forwarding Company. It has offices in 23 Countries that offer one stop-shop services in the Logistics Supply chain.
He is a licensed Customs House Broker and is the actual President of the Customs House Brokers Association (CHBA) – www.customshousebrokers.com
Mr Delbar is an international Speaker intervening on Trade practices and also as motivator for entrepreneurship.
As President of the Customs House Brokers Association, he has been fully involved in the Customs reform for ease of doing business at a competitive edge and the implementation of the Cargo Community System, an IT platform to manage and secure the movement of goods.
Mr. Delbar has been actively involved in regional and International Trade and participated fully in the implementation of the Trade Protocol in the areas of Rules of origin and trade facilitation.
He is also an elected Executive Committee Member of the SADC Federation of Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association (FCFASA) - www.FCFASA.org He has been Past President of the Federation after holding office from 2016 to 2020.
At SADC level, Mr Delbar plays an important role to facilitate business at borders.
He is also the Secretary General of the Freeport Operators Association (www.freeportoperators.com) which is an Organization that regroups Freeport Licensees in view of enhancing the Freeport Sector and to make Mauritius a Trading Hub.
As Secretary General of the Freeport Operators Association, Mr Delbar has left no stone unturned to promote Mauritius as a Regional hub of distribution and thereby boosting the Port activities. He has participated in many missions to attract foreign investors to shift their operations at Port Louis, especially Dubai, Turkey, Mozambique, India, etc.
Mr Delbar is the initiator and creator of Freight Academy - www.freightacademy.com – A pioneer institution to offer vocational and professional training in the logistics supply chain.
Freight Academy has played an important role for capacity building and common understanding of the logistics sector.
Mr Delbar is the actual President of the Mauritius Sailors’ Home Society, an Organization which provides service to seafarers while in transit or in difficult situation (www.sailorshome.mu).
Mr Afzal Delbar is a Director and Board Member of the Mauritius Cargo Community Services (MACCS) – an Organization set up by the Government to manage and secure the logistics supply chain in real time through an IT platform. (www.maccs.mu)
He has been Chairman of the Port Users’ Council from years 2015 to 2017.
He is also Member of Rotary Club Port Louis Citadelle.
Mr Afzal Delbar has been conferred the “Business Super Achiever Award” at “The Africa Leadership Awards” during the Africa India Partnership Summit held at Le Méridien – Mauritius on Wednesday 12th December 2012.
The Award is conferred on “Outstanding professionals who have the vision, flair, acumen and professionalism to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills in an organisation, making changes and achieving results”.
Once again, on the 10th December 2014, Mr Afzal Delbar has been conferred the “The Africa Leadership Awards” for “Promotion of a Trade Body” at Le Méridien.
The World Customs Organization has conferred the Certificate of Merit for the year 2016 for his involvement to facilitate world trade.
Mr Delbar has also created several Enterprises in Freeport, Property Development, Agriculture and Logistics.
Furthermore, Mr Delbar is member of several business Organizations at national and international level.
